CORRECTION: The Innocents (1961) should absolutely be on this list, but I completely forgot that it came out this decade. For some reason that film seems older to me. So throw that it, and this is my Top 31! 😅
Do you speak russian? I don't.
Horror Hotel is the creepiest! One of my favorites!
you're thinking It's Alive with the baby demon claw hanging out of the crib
The censors had a huge issue with the scene where the little girl, who had been bitten and died and became a flesh eating thing.
I love the book that Shirley Jackson wrote. It is spine tingling. The movie is good, but I agree with you, Daniel, that it isn't the best. Not like the book.
I’m definitely surprised that the Coffin Joe series wasn’t mentioned. At Midnight I Take Your Soul was Brazil’s first horror movie and it’s a weird mix of aggressive human who doesn’t believe in anything meets literal demons and the human is scarier than anything the demons do.
Never got into The Haunting. Never found it scary .
I first saw Black Sabbath as a kid in like – 1972. The ONLY story I remember is The Telephone ; scared the HELL out of me ! The Boris Karloff story is the least scary one. Witchfinder General is from the 1970s . No ? I had first seen Night of the Living Dead on late night TV in late 1975 / early 1976 (I believe this was about the first time it came to TV) . It was one of the scariest things I had ever seen and THANK GOD my parents were downstairs having a party with all the other neighbors from the area — had I been home alone that night ……………
What I found intriguing was that "Night Of The Living Dead" was actually a science fiction film. (Remember the news broadcast in the film which blamed the zombies on radiation brought to earth from a returning Venus space probe!)
Love your hat! My favorite horror movie!
I love your channel but you are wrong when it comes to The Haunting from 1963. That movie is the best and absolutely terrifying.
Great list as always!👏
What do you mean no claw? I've seen it, I swear!
I think it’s sad when Vincent non horror movies roles get overlooked our flat out not mentioned at all. The guy provide the voice one of the creepiest and most detestable villains character ever created in film history. It’s in quote kids movie of all things!
Does anyone know the name of an early 60s movie that had three stories. In the first story a young woman goes to a library to research a serial killer from the 1920s in the newspapers and suddenly the lights are turned off and she is alone. She looks out of the window and the cars and clothes are 1920s styles. Then the killer is in the library.
Jane Asher was Paul McCartney’s girlfriend from 1963-1968.
You got number one right. My favorite horror of the 60s
I know Mr. CObweb is not a big fan of DANA MACABRE, also known as Castle of Blood, but that is proably my favorite movie, at least horryr of the 60's. Also, as in your 1950's horror list, you had some that are science ficition. Just seems crazy that you don't have on the 60's QATERMAS AND THE PIT. Also would have on the list, LAST MAN ON EARTH. At one time not as well recewived, even below OMEAGA MAN, but now many consdier it the bedst verison of I AM LEGEND.
I agree about The Haunting. Especially after Haunting of Hill House by Flanigan. Come on now THAT is a masterpiece. The Haunting is horrible compared to that series. Not because it's old either just don't like it was so bored by it. 70's scary movies I grew up watching with my dad so I do not have anything I ng against 70's horror at all
Great video! Could you please add those videos as lists on Letterboxd? 🙂
We always thought that theo was a witch in the haunting
There was a movie Early 60’s and in the commercial a girl said “ There’s something inside of me and it’s eating it’s way out “ I cannot remember the name of the movie
Anybody?
Great list!
Yes, seen & love Rosemary's Baby
Love anything Vincent Price, Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing
Love The Pit & The Pendulum & Witchfinder General & Mask Of The Red Death
The Birds is my favorite Hitchcock movie
The music from Witchfinder General is brilliant & so are Vincent Price & Ian Ogilvy
